Long time no see!

Whippets, how I love them so.
Hello, beautiful bloggers and blogettes. I hope you've all been great. A lot of has happened since my last post!
Since we last met, I...
- MOVED TO CALIFORNIA!
...which I suppose is a very big deal. Hence why there hasn't been an update for almost a year! I wish I had so much more to show you, but things have been so busy that there hasn't been much time for me to draw lately. However here are a few pages from the past month or so. I hope you enjoy them!
As always, click on the images to make them larger.

Not much of a story behind these, only that 1. I went to the Orange County Pet Expo and got to see the whippets, 2. Rob and I adopted  a pair of boy rats since January, and 3. I went to visit Jessie and Lance, an amazing artist couple who took me around Burbank. Mixed throughout these silly doodles are rats, whippets, self-portraits, some silly animal-people, and the final image has a somewhat-inaccurate depiction of Lance and two versions of his girlfriend, Jessie.
Our rattie boys, Kotsu and Buster.
I'm definitely getting back into the groove, so expect another update shortly.
Amour,
Julee

Punk Rock Werewolves, Naked Dancing Ladies, and Victorian Gentlemen...

In this edition of Jewlee's Doodle Blog, hapless wenches get their come-uppin's from punk rock monsters!

Hello, beautifuls! Here's a few quick and nasty doodles from the past month or so. Costume business and school keeps me pretty dang busy but I still have my soft spot for the loose 'n crude charm of sketchbook love-making.
First, I'll start off with some Victorian Gentlemen (referenced from real fashion magazine illustrations from the 1800's!). Remember, pics enlarge when clicked.

Next up, a quick bit of recent fan-art for 'Hit-Girl', a character from the comic book/movie Kick-Ass.
I'll close with numerous random sketches and lots of naked dancing ladies.

Until next time,
Julee

Ballantines is good fer me!

Rob and myself being peck-eyed.

Hey everybody! Well, I've been pretty busy, but I'm uploading a batch of fast doodles. Here are some scans of the aftermath, featuring numerous self-ports, doodles of Bukowski and company, Adam Ant, members of Roxy Music, and a few depictions of my boyfriend and his glorious cats. All of these drawings are SUPER FAST and loose.
That's all for now, short and sweet :) See ya next time!

That's a bingo! March 2009 - Jan 2010

The Bear Jew welcomes you to this edition of "Jewlee's Doodle Blog".

Well, my life has taken some interesting twists and turns since my last sketchbook upload. But with undergrad studies winding down, I have some time to get tipsy and doodle :) So here are a few pics from last year, and a whole SLEW of 2010 doodles originating from yesterday's all-night scotchfest. Hope you enjoy and thanks for eyeballin' my doodles.

Here are some colorful selections from the past year:
A birthday gift for my boyfriend. He turned 30 last year!
A quick acrylic painting I did in August or so. Based off an R. Crumb sketch.

Oh, and here are the results of yesterday's doodlefest. It felt so good to christen a new sketchbook with crude drawings of famous actors and writers. Oh boy. See if you can recognize them all... I drew plenty of Sherlock Holmes based off the recent film, historical and film-based Oscar Wilde and Sir Alfred Douglas, Morrissey, Woody Allen, characters from Inglourious Basterds, some self-portraits and Nabokov and Kubrick-style Lolita.

That's all for now, I suppose. I look forward to updating you again when things get a little more artsy (or fartsy) around here.

Celebrities and doodads.

I've been very busy lately. Can you believe I'll be an english professor one day? Wow. Time flies since my last upload! Here are some brief and quick sketches done months and months ago now. I promise you fine folks I'll have more to show in no time :)

So without further aideu, random celebrity doodles. If you couldn't guess, most of these were done around the time of that "Dark Knight" movie and everybody (including myself) had a bit of a Heath Ledger infatuation.

Sketch dump! Nov. '07 - Feb. '08

The New York Dolls circa 1975 or so!
Why, hello there folks! Here's some sketches and doodles ranging from November of 2007 to February of this year. Enjoy some angry scribbles about inbred suburban rich kids, some cutesy doodles of me and my bald boyfriend, and some character studies!Just a little bit of venting about the shallow suburban idiots that go to my college.
Some scribbles of my comic characters.
Lovey-dovey doodles, featuring my whippet Boomer!
This was supposed to be used for a book cover, but was scrapped. I like his expression!

Drawn during last year's X-Mas, when Rob and myself were stuck in Kansas City in 25 degree weather!

Yeah, I do a lot of "making fun" of people, don't I?

When I was in third grade I made up these ridiculous anthropomorphic superhero characters. One was a rat with horns, and his girlfriend was a bunny with lots of ears. I think they were mutants or something! Haha. Here's the updated versions.

That's all for now, folks!
